WiFi mesh system

What is a WiFi mesh system?

A WiFi Mesh system is a solution that provides a unified wireless network throughout the home or office. Unlike traditional routers, mesh systems consist of several modules that work together to distribute the WiFi signal evenly throughout an area, eliminating dead zones and ensuring a stable connection in every corner of the building.

Types of WiFi Mesh systems

  • Basic and extension modules - consist of a main module that connects to the ISP's modem, and expansion modules that can be placed in different parts of the house to extend the network coverage. Each module acts as part of a larger whole, creating one cohesive network.
  • Two- and three-lane systems - support two frequencies - 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz - which provides good performance for most home applications. Tri-band systems add an additional 5 GHz band, which is ideal in busier networks, providing better throughput and stability.
  • Systems with advanced features - Some WiFi Mesh systems offer additional features such as parental control, built-in anti-virus protection and the ability to manage via a mobile app. This gives users more control over their network and allows them to tailor it to their needs.

How do I choose the right WiFi Mesh System?

  1. House size and number of appliances: If you live in a large house with many rooms where the WiFi signal may be weaker, you need a system that provides sufficient coverage. In such cases, it is worth considering expansion modules such as Extralink Dynamite C31, which can be deployed in various locations to extend the network's reach.
  1. Number of bands: If you have multiple devices using your WiFi network at the same time, a tri-band system will be a better choice. Conversely, if your needs are standard, a two-band system may be sufficient.
  1. Ease of installation and management: Choose a system that is easy to install and allows you to manage your network through an intuitive app. For example, Extralink Dynamite C21 offers simple configuration and integration into an existing network.
  1. Additional features: Consider whether you need additional features such as parental controls, the ability to create guest networks or advanced security options. These features can increase security and control over your network, especially in a home with children or in the office.

The choice of a WiFi Mesh system should be tailored to your specific needs, such as range, number of devices and additional features that can improve the comfort and security of your network. With a wide range of options available, you can easily find the perfect solution for your home or office.
